Sofii.org website overhaul and upgrade
The people at the Sofii Foundation had big hopes for their website but it wasn’t scalable, interactive or easy to update. We worked with them to rethink their strategy, organize their content, and make the site more useable for their 12,000+ users.

The original sofii.org website did great work – it showcased the best fundraising campaigns from across the globe in order to inspire and motivate future efforts.
But the site wasn’t searchable or well-organized and many of the regular visitors were simply missing a lot of the great content. And as a Dreamweaver site, it was onerous to update.
POINTS OF INTEREST
- Many custom tools were created to allow Sofii editors to add, edit and display hundreds of complex pieces of content easily.
- A commenting system was installed to allow their 12,000+ members to interact directly with the website for the first time.
- Sofii is based in Europe – we overhauled their site without ever meeting face to face.
IN THEIR OWN WORDS
"We’ve really hugely enjoyed working with Dean and his colleagues on the rethinking, remoulding, restructuring and redesigning project for the SOFII site. It’s a massive job, involving new conceptual thinking at all levels and taking us way beyond our normal boundaries of technical comprehension.
"We love Dean’s enthusiasm for the project and his seemingly unquenchable and tireless optimism. He takes time to explain complex issues in easy language. Nothing ever seems too much trouble or to phase him in the slightest. The phrase ‘going the extra mile’ comes to mind, but seems entirely inadequate.
"He’s made a major looming horrendous mountain of a task seem like a fairly easy stroll.”
- KEN BURNETT, MANAGING TRUSTEE, THE SOFII FOUNDATION
